chip'n dale

We all know that there are shows with absolutely no subtitles and others with subtitles throughout and then there are those which only have subtitles at certain parts because someone is speaking in a different language eg. Spanish, Klingon and when the Koreans speak English (the subtitles come out Korean for the non-English speaking).

But yesterday, the documentary I watched had subtitles only for one person who was speaking English. I think it might have been because he may not have been a native speaker, but his English was actually not bad. Maybe they thought his voice was a bit too deep/a bit garbled over the recording, thus giving him subtitles. Of which, the people listed in my previous post all need to come naturally with subtitles. Actually I think the whole cast of Hannibal should probably come with subtitles. Maybe except the women. But the men, generally yes. I think its okay if they are just speaking normally about a case or something, but the moment they start speaking about something dark or estranged like Will, everyone goes serious and starts speaking in a really low tone.

Just like what one should do if one is lost in the forest: Shout help in a low register.
Explained as follows: If one whistles piercing or shouts as loudly as possible, it may be possible that you are mistaken for "a bird" or other wildlife (apparently) but if you shout "Help", a distinctively 'human' word, in a low register, your voice will be able to penetrate deep forest more easily. Apparently. Somehow I don't trust the people, but whatever work rights. I'd try everything.

Another one I don't agree with is about trying food. Personally I would try anything that birds, or better still other mammals eat. That would include fruits. However I wouldn't really dare to put any leaf on my lower lip to test for poison. Cos doing that just sounds really risky. Cos really poisonous poisons can kill even if the tiniest amounts are consumed. Yes I know not everything other animals eat are suitable for us, but at least it is a start. Not like putting random things on your lip. If you were so unfortunate to choose to put some poison ivy on your lip, you're in for a whale of a time. Funny place to scratch, your lip.

I also think this is why I have a lot of trouble trying to write a straight line of argument, because, please take a look at my previous post, and also this one. I jump from topic to topic as long as they are remotely linked, which is a symptom of ADHD, if I'm not wrong. Only that they just really can't help it and that they do it all the time. But to justify my slight insanity, my defence is that I'm writing in a stream of consciousness, which you must never tell your Literature teachers that you are writing in for your essay, or they are certain to fall in a fit. (Like Julius Caesar and Othello haha) But then, I guess for the writers who are actually known to write in stream of consciousness and actually come up with legitimate not too horrifying books, then fine. Just not most people can do that I guess.

Maybe since I have a bit of time on my hands, I could go and post a few poems on my literature blog? Cos I feel a bit sad, I always post something about literature in my normal blog and then my lit blog gets left out. boohoo. Just kidding.

I started playing this really addictive game, the Disney TsumTsum thing, the first person which I saw playing was, surprise surprise, a boy. Well actually the games are genderless, but you would think that the cute aspect of the game would naturally attract girls (yum) while repelling some boys (also yes) but clearly not all boys. Btw, that guy does have a girlfriend (had numerous in fact), so my conclusion is that his girlfriend might have been the one the introduce it to him. Like how I unwittingly introduced my brother to it. He has not downloaded it on his phone, for sure, but he keeps watching me when I play. For once, he is actually not very good at this. HA!

Like I said, nothing in this world can stop the all powerful force of the Japanese Kawaii!!

(or maybe even the Japanese themselves? quote last post on Japanese food related Hannibal episode titles)

Okay gotta go post some poetry. I think.

Okay okay I came back. chip'n dale is actually derived from Chippendale, which I think was a manufacturer of wooden furniture. Unless I was severely tricked into believing this fact. Just like how my friend was tricked into thinking that DOTA (Defense of the Ancients) was actually Destruction of the Apples. The poor dear.

Whee I love my silly little Chip toy, WHICH SOME FOOL BOUGHT DALE AND DIDN'T BUY CHIP. Which makes me think that this person was either really dumb (and thought they were the same, let's just buy one) or really smart and hated the dumb one (Chip) and bought Dale. Or it was just a dumb person having dumb luck and choosing the smart one. boohoo, so I took little Chip into my care and showered with much love and care. And he's making a reappearance around the house and goes everywhere with my phone because he was the first Tsum I got on the game. Yay, I love Chip hehe.

Whee on a side note, my first CIP went okay, seeing how I did not need to interact with the elderly due to the presence of an already large group of Temasek JC kids, so I just sat at a computer for 2 hours and did horrible paperwork. I think it is easily the worst 2 hours of working at a computer. No wonder other people like to check FB while working, because it's DAMN BORING, but being a volunteer, from a certain reputable school, one must be on best behaviour. After slaving at 49 names and updating records, I thought at least, I could do something else a little better, but NO I have to go through the SAME list AGAIN but now it's even worse, cos now I have to crunch numbers and make them tally. I ran away at 5.15pm sharp, I ran as fast as I could without seeming like running. Gah at least if I had done both updating at the same time for one person, it could have saved some time. I also kinda lost my mind after checking and triple checking all the bloody records so I don't screw up somebody else's paperwork, especially since it is submitted to the Ministry of Health. Speaking of doing saigang, being a volunteer, I don't actually get paid for it, surprise surprise. I bet I made someone very happy and they should be. Doing all their shitty paperwork for them. If only we could simultaneously update their personal records and the governments records (ie sync them) that would save a hella lot of time. Now that's an idea!

Okay now before I get all worked up again and before my people come back, I shall end this post, eat and watch Hannibal.

At the same time.

Which may prove to be a bad decision.

But at this point, I don't really care HA!
